libpwquality1 software package provides library for password quality checking and generation, you can install in your Ubuntu 14.04 LTS (Trusty Tahr) by running the commands given below on the terminal,
$ sudo apt-get update $ sudo apt-get install libpwquality1
libpwquality1 is installed in your system.
Make ensure the libpwquality1 package were installed using the commands given below,
$ sudo dpkg-query -l | grep libpwquality1 *
You will get with libpwquality1 package name, version, architecture and description in a table
